When the .NET generic top-level domain name extension was first launched in 1985, together with the first domain name extensions on the web, it was supposed to be used by Internet Service Providers or infrastructure companies. Given that there were no special terms about the usage of the TLD, though, dot NET domains were secured and used for various purposes and by a great number of people. This extension represents a good substitute of .COM, notably if the wanted domain with the latter extension is not available for registration.
Registering a .NET domain with our company is a piece of cake and takes barely a couple of minutes, since we are partners with an ICANN-certified registrar company. You can book such a domain for an interval between 1 and 10 years, or, if you already have a domain, you can transfer it to our company and we will renew it after the transfer process is done. Transfers are available for all domains, which are at least 60 days old, given that they are not locked and that you have acquired an EPP transfer key – security measures established by the Registry organization against unauthorized transfers. You can easily alter the WHOIS details of the domain through your Control Panel interface, or, if you don’t want this info to be accessible at all, you can add a Whois Privacy Protection service, so nobody will be able to obtain your real contact information.
The .NET TLD supports internationalized names, so you can take a decision whether you want to concentrate on a particular country or zone using a domain name in the regional language, or the global web community – using a generic English name.
